Rogan josh, also written roghan josh or roghan ghosht, is an aromatic curried meat dish of Persian or Kashmiri origin. It is made with red meat, traditionally lamb or goat. Is colored and flavored primarily by alkanet flower or root and Kashmiri chilies. Is one of the signature recipes of Kashmiri cuisine.
As a child we were treated with Kashmiri dishes at home ,when my mother used to cook them with so much love and affection.The deep memories of these dishes with Roghan Josh are deep within me since those early days…
Every time i get to a place where Kashmiri dishes are available on board,Roghan Josh is always the first conscious choice:)
This week i had the yummiest of this dish along with some hot crispy butter Naan .Now rice goes as an integral part of the Kashmiri Cuisine in the Indian food.So i ordered for some plain basmati rice which was served so tempting hot!!!
My love for the dish is so immense ,that i had to keep aside the tasty Masala tea i was enjoying as the mouthwatering Rogan Josh came on to the table:))))
The lamb meat in the dish was so tenderly soft and mind boggling tasty……
It just melted within my mouth.I could boldly claim that i am yet to taste such a Rogan Josh in Prague.The best Rogan Josh in town………
While enjoying the yummy treat ,reminiscing the old love for the dish,I was greeted my Mr Wadehra.
He is the proud founder of the Indian Jewel Restaurant in Prague,a good friend and enterprising entrepreneur.
His love and passion for the good Indian food has kept his restaurant in the top rankings of the Prague Restaurants.
We had some heartfelt talk with him while i enjoyed the food.
The place was semi filled with guests mostly Indians,Arabs and English.The atmosphere has always been enchanting for me here.The service of the staff is excellent.The Restaurant staff is extremely polite and service oriented.
As i finished the yummy treat without any Sweets – New year resolutions to go with out sugar for a year(How much i would not have wanted it though),only a word of thank you comes to my mouth.
A big shout out and thank you Mr Wadehra for being a great entrepreneur you are and creating the wonderful place like Indian jewel for Prague food lovers!!!!!!
