I celebrated my birthday this week with my wife at lovely cozy Indian Restaurant Westbourne Tandoori.
Although my dental issues of which i have been suffering for last few weeks would not allow me much to eat anything. But my love for the Indian food as usual pushed me to go out with out some exciting Indian Restaurant in Dorset. To enjoy my Dorset Birthday Dinner.
Westbourne Tandoori is a compact Indian restaurant in the Westbourne district of Bournemouth, Dorset. We had the table booked here in advance to avoid any frustrations on the last working day for the Restaurant before the month long lock down in whole of UK.
On our arrival to the restaurant around 6pm,the place was looking not so full as i presume it was just getting heated up for the loyal Indian food fans to flock in.
We were told by the staff that the restaurant was bottleneck booked as from the following day the lock down started and all restaurants were doing only deliveries and take away during lock down.
The atmosphere of the place looked pretty soothing with some Hindi songs playing. The atmoshere was enchanting with few tables occupied by guests.
We were recommended by the manager of their signature welcome Papadum with a platter of chutney. We ordered for a plate of it.
It came in an attractive way and was beautifully served to us.
We ordered for Traditional Indian beer Kingfisher to go along with the spicy papadum and the starters . I did not go in this time for my traditional non alcoholic beer in honour of my birthday:)))
For the starters we ordered for Seekh Kebab (Minced Lamb blended with garam masala and herbs then grilled in the tandoor) went so well with the chilled Kingfisher ….
For the main dishes my wife chose to eat Meat Thali, a signature dish of the restaurant which they happened to be proud of.
I chose for some spicy Lamb Madras (One of my favourites) along with Keema Naan and Saag paneer as the side vegetarian dish.
The food came in perfectly on time and was served with unique perfection and style.
While we enjoyed the delicious food ,i could see the restaurant already full of people by this time. There were people waiting outside for the places to get vacated so they could have their grab on the Indian food experience at the restaurant before the lockdown.
We enjoyed the mouthwatering food and the atmosphere of the place. It was enchanting with a people chatting and enjoying .There was an air of love ,happiness and harmony in the Restaurant.
There were tables booked around with families ,corporate gatherings and private celebrations like ours.
The staff and the service was excellent and unique .The one some what specific and meticulous. The service was delivered with all the minutes of the guest needs taken care of.
Since i have been under dental treatment for last few weeks now ,for me the eating of the yummy mouthwatering dishes was longer than normal i would do. I could see my wife fully enjoying every bit of the dishes.
For the dessert my wife ordered for some Matka Kulfi. Its the traditional Indian ice-cream served cold in a ceramic pot.
This was topped by nuts and raisins and she seemed to enjoy every bit of it.
After my shifting to UK recently this has been the first Indian Restaurant experience .The Westbourne Tandoori with its fantastic mind-blowing tasty food and meticulous service made my birthday dinner a memory for us .
I had my Dorset Birthday Dinner …..
From tomorrow we go in for a month long Lock down all across UK .
Enjoy your meals and stay safe every one!!!
Lots of love to you all !!!!
